The Top 10 Things I Want To See From the DC's New 52 . . . NOW!

The New 52 have been out for a while and it has garnished a lot of attention and results. Yet, there are still things from the old DCU, Wildstorm and Milestone books that I would like to see pop up. Here are my list of the Top 10 things I want to see in the New 52.

by Frankie Rodriguez

10 - STEPHANIE BROWN

The Former Spoiler/Robin/Batgirl has been very much missed by fans since the New 52 began. She had a critically acclaimed series before the new 52 and people had just gotten used to her as Batgirl, being mentored by Barbara. But with Barbara back as Batgirl, Stephanie has not been seen . .. yet. Fans have clamored for both her and Cassandra Cain's return. Yet, it seems fans are speaking up louder for Stephanie. Will she return? DC says yes. I say ... it needs to be sooner than later.

9 - XOMBI

David Kim had just come back about 7 months before the new 52. And it came back to much fan fare. Many of the original fans and new fans flocked to the book by John Rozum and Frasier Irving. What is even odder was that the book was a direct continuation of the original but with a time jump. With DC big on diversity and the Edge & Dark books doing so well (ie.Animal Man, Swamp Thing, Stormwatch) this book would fit right in. Heck. It does not need a reboot. Continue where it left off and fans would be happy.

8 - WILDCATS

As much as Grifter is interesting and Voodoo is AWESOME, I still miss the rest of the team. Sure, I know that Warblade is gonna show up (as a villain) on Superboy and rumors are that Zealot is gonna appear soon, I'd love to see the WildCats come back together in the DCU in some fashion. I mean, where is Spartan? Where is Ladytron? Heck, Tao would make a great villain for not only the WildCats but for Batman and other members. I would just love to see the Cats back, maybe connected to an infamous DC company. Heck, Mr. Majestic and Savant would be welcome editions. I guess we will have to wait and see.

7 - STARMAN (other than Thom)

I am sorry but we honestly can use a new Starman. I'd like to see a present day Starman. He's had such a great legacy. Whether it be one of the Knights or Mikaal, a Starman would be fighting and make a get edition to DC's cosmic universe or even Earth heroes. Mikaal had enjoyed some popularity before the New 52. It would be so much fun to see him in this new universe.

6 - L.E.G.I.O.N.

Not R.E.B.E.L.S, L.E.G.I.O.N. Why? I know R.E.B.E.L.S. got cancelled but honestly, it just needed better promotion. And go back to calling it L.E.G.I.O.N.  We need to see Vril Dox in this universe to see how the bastard is doing. Plus, characters like Strata, Stealth, Captain Comet, Lady Quark, Adam Strange and more would all make a great collection of people in this book. To really tie in to the current DC cosmic landscape more, have one of the Lanterns join L.E.G.I.O.N. as well as possibly Lobo, who we have seen back.  Definitely a book that has a lot of potential.

5 -  ICON (& ROCKET)

They just appeared on Young Justice. The title was the love child of the late great Dwayne McDuffie. A super powerful man on par with Superman who was also a lawyer can prove interesting in a day in age where Law & Order and spin offs were addictions for people for two decades. Apply it to the DCU, you have a book that can be versatile. Rocket always helped showed the way to Icon and vice versa. She is one of the strongest female characters that has ever been created and needs to be seen again. And with DC's objective to have diversity would make a great fit into this new world.

4 - SECRET SIX

Suicide Squad is great and all but ... I want Secret Six back. I want Gail Simone writing it. I want Scandal Savage. I want Ragdoll. I want Catman being all bada**. And I want it now. Not tomorrow. Not in a year. NOW. Even with Bane, Deadshot and Harley not part of it, there are sooooooooo many characters that can be implemented into the Secret Six and make this team stand out in a new era. For the love, Simone made Bane cool again. Let her have her book back!!

3 - WALLY WEST

There have been hints that Wally still exists. There have been drops that Wally will return. Yet, nothing. I want Wally West back. Sure, Barry is Flash and is awesome. Still, I want Wally there too. We need to see him. People love him. He doesn't need to be The Flash but bring him back. We still have Dick Grayson, we can do plenty with Wally. So much. Bring him back DC. Please. And if you bring him back, bring back ...

2 - DONNA TROY

I know that Cassie got upgraded and Diana is now the daughter of Zeus. Zeus is a man-whore. Bring back Donna into the Wonder Woman mythos under Azzarello's control. We can make it interesting with Donna. She is such a beloved character that fans have asked about her as much as Wally West. Bring them both back would be amazing. Donna can always fulfill a new role in the DCU. I hope we get to see her.

1 - BLOOD SYNDICATE . . . & SNOWFLAME

Yes. I could not choose between them or who I want more. So they both share the # 1 spot.

Blood Syndicate was, without a doubt, one of my favorite books while growing up. It was my favorite Milestone book and I loved it cause it was so different. It was about a Super powered gang that was learning to survive in their world and keeping their turf  while being part of a bigger conspiracy. And you know what, they fight perfectly with the new 52. DC, you want Diversity ... this team is made up of so many nationalities that it makes the UN jealous. It can be gritty and dirty cause its about a gang so have it Teen +. Heck, if you can get the original writer Ivan Velez Jr. to write it and let him go off, that would be amazing. Even if not him writing it, allow the writers to let them play with this gang and the characters to build itself a new place in the DCU. I want this book ... NOW!

AND

Snowflame was brought to my attention because of Linkara. A Super Villain powered by cocaine. Lord, what a glorious idea. Bring this man back. Make him an A Level threat. Let him being a cult figure like Brother Blood but more awesome. He is powered by cocaine; you can have everyone from Stormwatch to JLI to Superman to Batman fight this villain. He is insane. He looks like he's got a Santa suit. He's got super powers and he's powered by cocaine. He is EPIC! I WANT SNOWFLAME NOW!!!

BOW DOWN BEFORE THE  SNOWFLAME. HE IS COOKOO FOR COCAINE!!!

Thanks To Linkara for producing such a fine video.

And these are what I like to see in the new 52. I enjoyed this list.

Coming Soon: Top 10 Things I want to See in Marvel NOW!

4th of July top 10 American Superheroes!

                                                      (Play while reading list)
It's the 4th of July. A day of our declared Independence, a day of patriotism. A day we celebrate with BBQs, fireworks and American flag apparel. In the spirit of this day of patriotism, I have developed a list of great American superheroes. I won't go into great detail of the heroes, but here they are.

10.  SuperPatriot

A cyborg who was once Johnny Armstrong, a soldier during WWII. He would be captured by the Germans and experimented on, gaining super strength in the process. He would later become over powered by a group of supervillains, having his limbs and most of his face eaten by Mako a sharkman. Left for dead he would be transformed into a cyborg by the group Cyberdata.

9. US Agent

John Walker, a former US soldier, would receive his powers from the Power Broker. (a mysterious person who granted super powers) He would have a brief stint as the Sixth Captain America, as Steve Rogers was on the outs with the Government.

8. Patriot (Eli Bradley)

Eli Bradley, the grandson of Isaiah Bradley ( The Black Captain America) initially received his superhuman abilities artificially from the Mutant Growth Hormone. (An illegal street drug that causes brief periods of superhuman abilities.) He would later gain permanent powers after receiving a blood transfusion from his grandfather, after taking a blast meant captain America.

7. Liberty Belle

Libby Lawrence, her super powers are triggered by the ringing of the Liberty Bell. Once it rang no villain was safe from her but-kicking.

6. Star Girl

Courtney Whitmore was the second Star Spangled Kid, before she received the Cosmic Staff from Starman Jack Knight, changing her name to Stargirl.

5. Shield

Credited as the first Patriotic superhero, created by Archie comics. Joe Higgins was a chemist, who was continuing his father's research of super strength. Upon figuring out he would apply it to his various organs.

4. Uncle Sam

Because he had several origins i will link his wiki Here. But come on it's Uncle Sam, hard to get more patriotic and American then him.

3. Isaiah Bradley

Known as the Black Captain America, was part of a group of African-Americans in Project: Rebirth that were used as test subjects to recreate the Super Soldier formula that created Captain America.

2. Superman

Upholding Truth, Justice and the American way. Superman is known as the first Superhero. He lives to inspire man to do good and live to their potential. An orphan from a dying planet, he is an immigrant, and embodies the spirit of what made the US as we know it.

1. Captain America

The Super Soldier, Steve Rogers was a scrawny kid from New York. He was a true american hero long before he donned the red, white and blues. A man respected by all of his peers, he is the embodiment of The American can do, never quit, fighting spirit.

The Top 15 Cartoon Properties That Should Become Comics!

Top 15 Properties That Should Be Comics

 by Frankie Rodriguez

Hey everyone. We are gonna be going through our childhoods and seeing what out there could use a continuation or remake with a comic. There are gonna be some great surprises in this and some real no-brainers.

Now, this is all just opinion based. Feel free to agree or disagree and make your comments known. With that out of the way, let's get to it.

15 - INHUMANOIDS

You know what I loved about this show? It was GI Joe meets Lovecraft. A team of scientists and soldiers fighting against both corrupt organizations and demonic monsters from under our feet. The corrupt organizations freed the monsters, who were the size of Godzilla and all help broke lose. This proper could really shake things up. Cloverfield was an interesting take on this but needs to be done better. With deep characterization, good science fiction and a great dose of horror, Inhumanoids could very well grab comic readers like DC New 52s Swamp Thing and Animal Man.

14 - SHE-RA, PRINCESS OF POWER

Basically He-Man with boobs and a more powerful sword. Seriously. Her sword could do everything her brother's sword could and transform at her command to other weapons. She had super strength but in her world . . . She was the outlaw. Etheria was ruled by the evil Horde. And while many people joined the rebellion, the majority of Etheria is ruled by the Horde. That makes her a bad guy in her eyes. So she and her Great Rebellion fought many, many Horde generals and the overlord of Etheria, Hordak. Her brother got a reboot in comics and tv, why can't she? A warrior woman with mystical power. I can deal with that. Don't tell me that a new series with She-Ra going toe to toe like her brother, with some blood but good amount of characterization and adventure wouldn't be great.

13 - VISIONARIES

Magical Warriors of Light. Yet, the twist of this . . . it was a planet, Prismos, where technology such as we have today once existed till a magical event happened which made technology inert. As a hundred years past, the world had become lost in the medieval age with glimpses of the technological present they once knew. The powers of magic, thanks to a wizard, stood unleashed between two different factions. And thus, the war with the Spectral Lights began.
With nods to Arthurian myth, mixed with a little technology, this show is ripe for a writer to come in and give us a story of a Neo Medieval time. Where cars and planes and boats are powered by magic. With a look at this new world, that could be the most interesting journey yet in comic form.

12 - MIGHTY MAX

When I first heard this from CBC staffer Hector Ramirez, I was scratching my head and thought "Are you serious?" Then I got to think about it. This kid has the powers and abilities to go through time and space using a cap and a shirt. He's got a wise old sage in the form of Virgil, this  giant . .. chicken/owl bird being and a Norse Warrior as a bruiser named simply named Norman.
Yet, his main enemy was called Skullmaster . .. who was voice by Tim Curry. OKAY. I am sold. While comes has done the whole alternate dimensions and different worlds thing to death, this is great breeding ground to do a lot of new stuff with Max; especially as he gets older. Skullmaster can still be the main enemy but give the kid some new enemies. Plus, if Max is protecting the ENTIRE multiverse, some more friends would help.
Yet, with a plethoria of worlds, this is Sliders meets Dr Who meets the Scoobies from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Or that is what it could be with the right writer and artists.

11 - CENTURIONS

Wait. You haven't heard of it? Okay. Let me explain why this is kind of a gold mine to actually bring back. First, it is a story of a team of experts in different fields and get special suites that give them powers to fight the evil Doc Terror and his army, who try to take over the planet. Originally starts with 3 operatives but later joined by 2 others, they fight off Doc Terror, Amber, Hacker and legions of robots.

Second, the show ran for a LONG time with lots of GREAT writers. A 5 episode miniseries than an extra 60 episodes on top of that. And writers who were writers on the show include Michael Reaves, Larry DiTillo and Gerry Conway to name a few.

Third, the designs are from GIL KANE & JACK KIRBY. Seriously, two of the greatest artists in comic book history are behind the designs of the show. That makes it automatically demand your love.

With the right writer and artists updating Kirby's & Kane's designs and giving the Centurions a bigger threat   (with or without Doc Terror),  this book could be GI Joe meets Bionic Man. Kirby & Kane demand your love creators!

10 - POWERPUFF GIRLS

Our new writer, Darryll Carter, suggested this. The Powerpuff Girls had a comic but has long since stopped. And the question is, why the Powerpuff Girls . . . well, deal with them as teenagers. They were only little girls during the course of the show. Make them teens. That creates a WHOLE new set of problems. Plus, the art of JH Williams III on this would make this Powerpuff Girls extremely different yet awesome, catching the joys of youth with the grit of being a teen and fighting evil.  You can see it, can't you?

9 -  EXTREME DINOSAURS

Picture dinosaurs being turned into Intergalatic heroes. In the cartoon, they protected Earth. A new comic with these characters can have them facing threats all over space. That way,  it gets them a different distinction as a group of freedom fighters from space instead of another Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles clone. The characters are distinctive enough to really dive into their personalities but still have plenty of room to work with. They are likable, skilled and can be a force to be reckoned with. Come on creators. You can do sooooooo much with this.

8 -  SYMBIOTIC TITAN

This is on the list cause I want it to continue. It was a TRAVESTY that the show was not renew or re aired with high demand of fans by Cartoon Network. Stating that there wasn't enough toys that connected (aka the toys didn't sell enough) for them to continue and just scrapped the show. The show had brilliant writing, a great collection of characters and great potential to be the greatest Genndy Tartakovsky cartoon ever (behind another contender). The story of an alien princess, her defender and a robot dealing with life on Earth and defending the galaxy. This story needs to be completed.

7- EXO SQUAD

THIS EPIC NEEDS TO BE A COMIC. I say that cause the original cartoon that it came from was about a  war with another species . . . that humanity created as slaves. The writing on the show was strong and the conclusion was indeed satisfactory  but there was SO much more that could have been done with the show itself that a comic can really dive into. What about the humans who didn't want to make the Neo-Sapiens. What about those Neo-Sapians who did not want to fight? What would life be live on Mars & Venus after we terraformed them? What about the people in the wars being fought? What about the formation of the Exo Squad itself? These are all questions that can be examined in a reboot of this classic cartoon about war & tolerance.

6 - SKYSURFER STRIKE FORCE

I know. I know. I am getting looks.  But deep down, this property is great staging ground for a comic to take over. And I will tell you why. You have a story of a  man who is going to jail for a terrorist act that he did not commit. Then you have a criminal genius who not only set up the man to go to jail, but actually took his brain and  put it in a body where he would essentially become immortal. He forms his group of mercenaries using cybernetics while brainwashing his own daughter to be a psycho like him. Finally, the scientist that was frame has a son who is vowing venges; using his father's works to form his own vigilante band that fly on hover boards that can become cars. TELL ME THAT IS NOT AWESOME AND I WILL CALL YOU A LIAR!
This is a property that can very well be like IDW's GI Joe or Cobra with some new spins as well as making Psyphron, the main villain, a truly depraved super-genius. This has story potential with all the characters involve; not to mention the psychological and technological applications to crime and crime-fighting. This could be a book that could very well surprise people . ..  with some redesigns for the heroes.

5 - C.O.P.S.

This cartoon was a cult classic to many of the people who grew up during the 80s. And with good reason. It was good, ole fashion good versus evil . . . just with super powers. And these super powers were either a product of technology or science. You have a ruthless mob don with a cartel of enhanced humans cause all sorts of crimes from embezzling to down right theft. You can just up the stakes in a comic version and really flesh out the characters. Get into personal relationships between the characters and develop some new and impressive ways of how C.O.P.S. stop crime in a future time.
With a strong leader, the right creative team and some slight updates to an otherwise great looking property, C.O.P.S. can inspire many fans to believe in their officers.

4 -  W.I.T.C.H.

Did you remember this? Does your girlfriend? I bet she did. The tale of 5 girls with elemental powers, chosen to fight the mystical enemies from another dimension in order to save both the magical dimension and their own. And while the series enjoyed a 3 season run worth of story, there is still a lot of potential with these girls.
Jumping ahead with the girls with their powers or just a full reboot with a dramatic retelling the story of how 5 girls ended up with the powers of the elements and must combat everything from evil sorcerors to demons and must make a stand to save both the magical dimension and Earth. Let these girls really learn about their powers and grow up while fighting would be ideal for a new comic book. And with the lead characters all being women, many female readers may very well flock to it. Maybe hand it over to Gail Simone perhaps? Or Kathryn Immonen? hmm?

3 - BIONIC SIX

Seriously, why hasn't this property been touched? It has elements of the Fantastic Four, a family with super powers and go off on adventures, with a touch of Bionic Woman, Six Million Dollar man and G.I. Joe with an evil organization called Scarab. And while Scarab isn't the only enemy of the Bionic Six, they are the main adversaries. The art was beautiful. The characters were multifaceted. Including the struggle between Professor Sharp and his brother, the vile and ruthless Dr. Scarab.
Scarab members themselves were so different with very different motivations. Mechanic just loved to beat up things and watch cartoons. Chopper just loved destruction while Glove was the backstabbing, schemer who wanted to take over Scarab himself.
And those are the villains. The heroes, from IQ, the sole African American member, who was adapted but the smartest and third in command of the family. Karate-1 was somewhat brash but very loyal to his heritage and his teachings. And a consistent joker. Bionic-1 is the strong father who is the patriarch of the family but loves to experiment in the kitchen.
These characters and more are just the appeal of this property that could use a proper facelift or new beginning.

2 - SILVERHAWKS

You knew this was gonna be on this list. You knew this was gonna be here. The Thundercats has come back to a roaring applause.  These characters are near blank slates that are ripe for writers to dive into their histories, personalities and really make the Silverhawks' war with Monstar into the epic battle that it always should have been.
Plus, the Silverhawks could also use some more characters to its roster. Monstar's band of villains seem to be much larger than the Silverhawks. Plus, with the right writers, they can do so much with each of the Silverhawks.

1 - M.A.S.K.

This property is in DIRE need of a reboot. So much potential. This was the love child of G.I. Joe and Transformers, with vehicles that would transform into different modes. Mobile Assault Strike Kommand fought against the evil organization known as V.E.N.O.M., who was bent on either being rich or taking over the world in their own way. During the second season of the show, V.E.N.O.M. was lead by Vanessa who wanted to actually take out members of M.A.S.K. one by one.
Take this concept and the characters and give them a new beginning. Update the characters, the vehicles and give new missions for the operatives of M.A.S.K. and double or triple V.E.N.O.M.s operative. Writers can do everything from crime stories to thrillers to war stories to fun races to mysteries. It is all in the manner of how you take this property. The mask helmets used were all special but the origin of said helmets were never explained. That is another story that could be told. So much potential here just waiting to be used for a new audience in a comic.

And this is my list of the Top 15 properties that I believe that should be comics now. What do you think? Did you disagree and have some choices of your own? Feel free to leave your comments below. Thanks again.

My Feelings on the Spider-Man movie Franchise

In May of 2002 I was about 13 years old. I had already been a huge Spider-Man fan since I was about 5. So when I learned there was a live action Spider-Man movie in development, I was psyched. When I was younger I had already pretty much came up with my own MARVEL MOVIE DREAM TEAM. In my mind I had always pictured a Spider-Man movie with Michael J. Fox as Peter Parker and Jackie Chan would do all the web swinging and stunt work. Hell even the guy who played Biff in Back to the Future could play Eddie Brock.  Now of course I didn’t expect to get that in this film but I was excited none the less. When I first saw Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man I was very satisfied. I felt like I was watching a cartoon come to life. A few years later I saw the second film. Now everyone says that Spider-Man 2 is the best in the series and I 100% agree. But there was something happening while I watched this film. Something that back then I couldn’t explain. It was festering under all the “ha-ha’s” at every comic relief and under the goose bumps caused by the wide angles of all the acrobatic web swinging scenes. Something wasn’t right but, I hadn’t realized it until a few months after I saw the third film. I never liked Tobey Maquire as Peter Parker.

Do I believe he did a terrible job? No. Do I feel like there could have been someone better for the part? Absolutely. Maybe this take on Peter Parker was good at the time but, I just don’t  like the way he was portrayed in these stories. Sam Raimi’s Peter Parker is every bit a social outcast. From his shy and meek demeanor, to his lack of confidence and thick rimmed glasses. He was always picked on by all the jocks until his dashing and rich friend Harry Osbourne came to his rescue. When it came to the ladies, no one set his soul on fire like that of miss Mary Jane Watson who is sweet but never takes much notice to Peter. To me, all this seems backwards. Peter Parker to me didn’t seem like much of a loser. In fact, he was a pretty cool guy. The only thing that made him a social outcast was that fact that he was brilliant. Sure the jocks teased him but he was always witty in his snarky come backs that they had no choice but to kick his ass. As for women, Parker had honeys flocking to him and as I recall, Mary Jane Watson was going after him not the other way around. Harry Osbourne was a huge loser. And would constantly ask Peter for advice. Now granted the Peter Parker from the films became more confident after the what should have been cancerous spider bite, making for a more dramatic on screen transformation. In that case I totally understand the change.

Until of course I notice that he never really changes. He has powers, he beat up a high school bully, he gets the girl and he saved all of New York City. Yet he’s more depressed than ever before. I won’t go into how much I hated the third films interpretation of the symbiote Parker or the fact that it made him more of a loser than before. I won’t even get into the fact that in all actuality I really like Eddie Brock because he kind of was the Bizarro Parker according to the films. But I will say that from all the sappiness, and the crying, and emo douche moments, over all I loved Spider-Man but hated Peter Parker. Quite honestly I do think it’s pretty ridiculous that there’s a reboot for a film franchise that’s only ten years old but, I’m glad it's being done. Though I haven’t seen The Amazing Spider-Man yet, I can say that I like what I see. This reminds me of how I felt about Batman Begins after trying to get the taste of Batman & Robin out of my mouth and living in fear of the idea of another Clooney Batman film. Hopefully Marc Webb’s take on Spidey will bring something fresh to the world of Spider-Man for years to come.

The Stuff of Legend is well, The Stuff of Legends!

Okay, cheesy title notwithstanding it's true. The Stuff of Legend, from Th3rd World Studios, is a graphic novel I highly recommend that everyone read. A story with breathtaking originality. Taking place in Brooklyn during WWII, the story follows a group of toys who go into "The Dark" to rescue their owner from the Boogeyman. Think "Toy Story" meets "Saving Private Ryan". So before you write it off as another children's book, please don't. This is wonderfully written, well executed story. It combines the nostalgia of toys from yesteryear, the thrills of a great action movie, dropped in a dark gritty world. Aside from the violence, this is a great story that can be enjoyed by anyone of any age that can read. The cast who start out as toys gain real bodies after entering The Dark, located in the closet. With their new, powerful bodies they wage war against the armies of the Boogeyman, trying to find and rescue their owner. There are definitely lots of twists and turns to keep you enthralled in the story, but it is the character's personalities and motivations that really shine through.

The Colonel, the toy soldier, will remind you of Captain America as he embodies the virtues of the Boy and America. He leads the toys without hesitation into The Dark.

Max, The boy's teddy bear and most loved toy. Blames himself for letting the Boogeyman take the child.

Quackers, wooden toy duck. He becomes the reconnaissance when he gets real wings.

Princess-, toy indian, proves to be a sound strategist and fierce warrior.

Jester, the Jack in the box, an odd fellow who is a gentleman as well as a fun-loving warrior.

Harmony, the Fairy spinning top. The good natured, motherly figure of the group.

Percy, The piggy bank! The scholar of the group. Scared of breaking, protests going into the dark.

Scout, the boy's loyal puppy who is just as fierce in battle as the others. Max is not a fan of him because he fears the boy loves the puppy more then him.

These loyal toys band together as they travel into The Dark, a realm that use to be a paradise where abandoned toys ended up, until the Boogeyman arrived. The Boogeyman, a creature of darkness, is kidnapping children for reasons currently unknown.

You definitely want to go to your nearest retailer and pick up a copy soon, because Disney will be making it into a feature length film. To be directed by Pete Candeland, who has worked on the animation of the band Gorrilaz, will definitely be very different from typical Disney movies. If you ever appreciated your toys as a child or imagined they were real, you will definitely love this book.

Exactly. Now go buy a copy before the Boogeyman comes to get you.

Marvel NOW aka Marvel Relaunch!!

A Look Into Marvel's Future with Marvel NOW!
Hello worshipers. Frankie here. Big news today is that Marvel ... in their infinite wisdom has confirmed that it will be relaunching 22 ... yes, 22 titles starting this October as a result of the events of Avengers vs X-Men. And while there was speculation that this was gonna lead to a Flashpoint/New 52 reboot like DC Comics, many from Marvel say that is not so. There will be one new book a week from October till February 2013. In a recent article of in Entertainment Weekly, Marvel had unveiled some of their plans:

Uncanny Avengers: written by Rick Remender and John Cassidy.

Relaunching this October, the new team will include Captain America, Wolverine, Havok, Thor and Rogue. Recently released news details that this team will deal with Captain America realizing that he has not helped mutants much lately and steps up Havok into the lime light. Their first threat ... why the Red Skull. and no, not Sin. But her father! Well, his consciousness anyway. It has been called the bridge book between Avengers and X-Men post-AvX.

Avengers by Jonathan Hickman and Jerome Opena

It will be a bi-weekly book that will include up to 18 members; including recent Secret Avenger, Shang-Chi. The book is to go between galaxy spanning arcs to one issue stories to help rebuild the Avengers. The book starts in December.

All-New X-Men by Brian Michael Bendis and Stuart Immonen

The original 5 X-Men will be time traveled to the present, technically returning Jean Grey to the Marvel universe without a resurrection. Bendis promises to focus on the character development compared to science fiction. Bendis stated, It's not a time-travel story like Back to the Future. It's a time-travel story like Pleasantville."

Other titles that have been rumored for the new Marvel NOW relaunch include:

Nova
Fantastic Four by Matt Fraction and Salvador Larocca
Guardians of the Galaxy
and more.

With all this, we have yet to get confirmation of  whether or not this is a soft reboot or a relaunch. There have been statements that seemingly contradict each other. Keep your eyes and ears here for more news about this latest development from Marvel.

Please forgive any site errors you come across. The links atop that would send you to the other sections of the blog, like webcomics. The man who helped built the site is still showing me how to edit the HTML. But you can still check out our reviews and articles. I promise you it will get better. I will have a lot more content.

Thank you,
Giovanni "SuperVan" Lozada
